He became frustrated because he could not penetrate me.As I
lay there looking at the top of the tree house, the game was no longer
fun but painful,then tearful,and at last terrifying. When he was all
done,He spoke to me with a chilling voice: "We have a bond. Don't ever
tell.It would hurt your mother terribly to think a little girl like
you would behave in a manner this way.a guilt sensation flooded
through my little body;I felt betrayed like someone had stolen
something from me,and most of all:I felt that I was a bad little
girl.My innocence was gone forever. This event changed my life.I also
felt the guilt of my father hurting Momma. I dreaded Momma being alone
knowing my father bailed, I didn't want Uncle Cleo to bail on her
too.I never told a soul. I felt I had to protect her and I resented
her for the weight I had to carry to shield her from the reality of my
experience. It later affected our relationship; it came between us
emotionally. She knew maybe because she was not as strong as she
should have been, I made up for her weaknesses. I drowned the pain in
rebellion. I lashed out in pain at everyone I loved including Momma.

The distance grew stronger through the years,but my admiration for her never changed.

In this book Tee Austin shares her life experiences filled with disappointment, abuse, frustration, bad choices, and finally hard-won independence. Despite the many tribulations Austin underwent, she persevered. I want all the readers to know this is truly an inspirational book. This book allows you to focus on personal and spiritual growth, self-acceptance, change,and bringing peace into your life. I could not put it down. This book will make you mad, sad, and happy. You will cry but most of all you will learn a lesson. Soul Ties by Tee Austin is truly a book that will teach you to maintain faith even through the hardest obstacles. She encourages us all to look at ourselves, laugh at ourselves, cry for ourselves, and then take the necessary steps to heal ourselves. Poems like salt, poems like honey, poems that comfort, poems that sting

This poetry collection is breathtakingly beautiful. Ijeoma Umebinyuo is writing for women, about the experience of being a woman. The poems are about self-worth and self loathing, about love, about trauma, about family. Some are about Nigeria; some are about being a student abroad. There are poems so short that you can hold a whole one under your tongue and smuggle it across international lines, and others that are longer and unfold a whole story.

Here's a very short one that I love:

Stay
let me tell you
how salt fell in love

one day,
salt found water
and just would not let go.

--Ocean

Here's a slightly longer one:

Your lover sped away
leaving tire marks on your skin.
You have resolved to eating
yesterday for breakfast.

I watch you gather your memories
like firewood,
warming yourself
for yet another lonely night.

There are also about mothers and daughters:

You are your mother's amen
to all her prayers
the calm to her trembling soul
she gathers our happiness
rubbing it on her skin
till she begins to glow

Another, "Glory"

Before the year ends
teach yourself five things
your mother never taught you
then, teach yourself five things
you want to teach your daughter

Let me leave you with one about homesickness, called "aching hearts//missing home"

At the embassy,
they never warned us about days
america will feel so lonely,
we will gather our mother tongue
hastily swallowing words
that remind us of home to keep warm

A breakthrough way to use Reiki to change your life...

This book is excellent. It is very specific: a book to teach you how to use Reiki to change your core beliefs about abundance and lack. It is NOT a book designed to teach you about Reiki itself. Reiki cannot be learned from a book (Diane Stein's teachings notwithstanding, see my Amazon.com review of her book.) It IS a book to teach those who are already Reiki practitioners to use Reiki to change their lives.
All too many of us carry negative beliefs about money and our right to abundance. Many of us were taught that money is "bad", that only those who are not spiritual will have abundance. What nonsense! Spirit wishes us to live life with abundance, it is our birthright (see Lee Carroll's Kryon books for more info on this topic.) Horan's book provides a step-by-step program which, if followed, will disolve blockages in your life and allow the natural abundance of the universe to flow through it.
I followed the program, and the changes in my life were amazing. Not overnight, but substantial nonetheless. The most important part was the change in my mental attitude, and how my life flowed from that. If you are already a Reiki practitioner who wants to change their life, buy this book! If you're interested in learning more about Reiki, find a good Master/Teacher in your area and seek training from them. A teacher is vital, you cannot learn it alone. But once learned, the changes in your life will astound you! I have been praticing Reiki since 1994, and have been a traditionally trained Master/Teacher since 1998. Good book about ABUNDANCE through clearing limiting beliefs

Yes, this book has been written by a Reiki Master, but the focus is more on clearing the subconscious of your limiting beliefs about abundance and energy... There is not a lot of information specifically on Reiki, but instead it uses Reiki as an additional method to help the process of clearing. If you are looking for good information about how to experience a more fulfilling life, then this book is very good. If you are looking mostly for Reiki information, then try 'Essential Reiki' by Diane Stein. Another reviewer here has pointed out what they believe to be 'faults' of this book, but these only make up a tiny portion of the book and are merely a viewpoint - can you really expect every sentence in an entire book to agree with your own thoughts? The author also makes it immediately obvious that this is her second book and is NOT specifically about learning Reiki. Having myself taught Reiki to students in over 20 countries and so therefore having an idea of what is actually useful on the Path, I can honestly say that this is a worthwhile addition to any collection.

This book is great

This book is really not about Reiki specifically. It's more like John Randolph Price's book (The Abundance Book). Daily exercises are given which relate to each chakra of the body. These are repeated for 21 days and then you switch to affirmations for 21 days. While I don't do as well with affirmations, I found the first half of the book to be fabulous. The sections where you talk about or write about your feelings in areas corresponding to the 7 chakras was powerful for me. You begin to understand yourself and envision yourself transcending your old limitations.

Essentially what happens is that you are asked to meditate on a theme and talk it out (preferably out loud though I did occassionally write it out when I was not in a position to do the exercises aloud). So you'll talk about wisdom or money and tell yourself all the reasons why you don't or can't have it. Then you shift your energy by talking about why you want it and how you want it. When you get out all of your negative thoughts in this way, it makes it easier for your mind to relax when you are going into the positive things. You can actually allow yourself to visualize or declare what you want without some inner voice issuing a challenge because all of your doubts and fears have already been aired out.

You can combine this with Reiki if you are a practitioner, but you don't have to be a Reiki practitioner to use the book. Though it is called Abundance through Reiki, it does not focus on the symbols or hand positions but focuses on the idea of Reiki as a universal force which we tap into when we are drawing abundance into our lives.

If you are looking for a book which gives you a step by step reiki treatment with symbols or hand positions, this isn't it. You'd probably do better to check out a book by Walter Lubeck, Frank Arjava Petter or the like. While I haven't seen them write a specific abundance technique, they have techniques for clearing negative thought patterns, for emotional healing, and for general manifesting which can easily be applied to the issue of Abundance and Prosperity. These books will give you thoroughly detailed (albeit sometimes very complicated) techniques to follow.

It's rare that I can pick up a technical Book and want to read it.

It's rare that I can pick up a technical Book and want to read it. This one is a diamond in the rough landscape of convoluted books attempting to describe all the facets of the Cloud from a Microsoft perspective. One of the biggest questions in the Industry is Why not Microsoft when VMWare has dominated this space for so long, or even OpenStack? Ron Builds the system with all the completeness that is required for anyone who has ever wanted to design/build/enhance/test/evolve their current understanding from a novice to a real expert in MS Private Cloud. I think I would easily give this book to my 16 year-old and she would build this entire system with the background knowledge and reasons why for any aspect of the MS Private Cloud. I am a big fan of Ron's work and Having met him in person makes this purchase a no-brainier. If you have questions around any aspect of building your own Private Cloud you will find the answers here. Great job Ron and Congratulations!

If you are like me you want to have solid survival and bushcraft knowledge on you when you go hiking. I know some basics but if a real situation happened there is no way I would what to do beyond try to build a fire. The full-size SA Survival Handbook is incredible, but it is a large book and pretty heavy for a day hike pack. To my delight, there is a "pocket guide", or a small guide that will fit nicely into your pack. Sure you can get information on your phone, but phones die, service can be spotty or gone. This is a nice piece of confidence to carry with you!

I would certainly recommend this book as a daily hiking carry!

I ordered this SAS Survival Guide, because my brother told me this was one of the best ones to get. He has one for is backpack. I ordered mine and my fiancee's for our go bags. This is a nice book to have in case of an emergency. This book would be great for hiking, fishing, hunting, camping or backpacking also, so that if you got lost, run out of food or wanted to stay longer, it can show you what you can and cannot eat and other different tricks to stay outside in any climate condition. This book is very handy, it is small and easy to store in you backpack, it barley takes up any room.

This book has many different helpful tips like how to build a fire, how to build shelter, how to build weapons to find food or protect yourself and many more things. It even has pictures of the different plants and berries you can and cannot eat and things that you should stay away from. It has pictures of ways to tie knots and build shelter also. I am very impressed with this book I just skimmed through my brothers book but now that I have my own I have got to learn more about it. I liked it so much I ordered 2! I would highly recommend this to anyone, because it is very helpful!

This might look like a small book. But in fact is the best survival, bushcraft and camping book available. I have the larger Survival Handbook 3rd Ed. as well as the Romanian version, and these books are must have for everyone. Highly recommended!
