This book is great for those of us who have parents who have been colonised and raised their children with a Pakeha world view. I found the reading very empowering as I could identify with the loss of myself however finding that side of myself in the pages was exciting. It also helped me to engage with the differing sides of me as a half cast Maori that enables me to learn about Tikanga within my own iwi and value all sides of me.
Great for those assignments where culture is identified and valued by academia.
