Stephen Kendrick is best known as a screenwriter and movie producer (Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous) along with having co-wrote the New York Times best sellers The Resolution for Men and The Love Dare with his brother, Alex. Stephen and his wife, Jill, have six children, and he serves as senior associate pastor of preaching and prayer at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Alex Kendrick is best known as an actor, writer, and director whose film credits include Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. He and his wife, Christina, have six children. He also serves as associate pastor of movie outreach for Sherwood Baptist Church.

Every couple should take this dare!

The Love Dare Daily Devotionals is a book that is intended for married couples but can be used for couples who are engaged or are in a serious relationship. This book shares what the true meaning of love is and how to share that with your spouse. This book is a challenge! Through this book God opens your heart about what YOU need to work on in your relationship to make it better. Your attitude in a relationship can make all the difference. God reveals to you what is in your heart. Better yet if the relationship is what God intended for you to be in, be prepared to experience deep changes between you and your spouse. Your love moves to a stronger unconditional love level by letting God be involved with your relationship. Couples should read this book if they want to defy divorce and the ridiculous marriage/relationship ideas of this world. Move to the next level in your relationship and your relationship with God by taking the Love Dare Daily Devotional Challenge. You and your relationship with your spouse will never be the same but will become stronger and better.

The Love Dare for Parents

I wasn't sure how God was going to use this book in my life, but after reading Days 2 and 3 (dealing with patience and kindness respectively), I can honestly say that it was Divine Providence that allowed me gain access to this book. I have struggled with wrongly directed anger issues towards my young son for a while now (getting upset with him for even the slightest mistake), and Day 2 felt like it was written specifically for me. This quote really spoke to me: "Patience is always welcome. It gives people more time to work through their issues. It beautifully diffuses conflict before trouble has a chance to escalate. It whispers peace into situations brewing toward eruption. It's not a blanket form of tolerance that lets everything go, but rather a wise surveyor of the situation, allowing proper steps to be taken." I think one of my struggles with showing too much patience with my son is that I think he will see it as weakness on my behalf and, instead of bringing him up "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" I will be bringing him up as an unruly child that will embarrass both his mother and I because he thinks he can get away with things all the time. However, the preceding quote really convicted me that showing patience is not weakness at all, but is a much better attribute to default too rather than anger.
"The Love Dare for Parents" is a book that needs to be read by all parents, and then re-read multiple times in order to drive us to our knees and make us more dependent upon God's grace to love our kids the way that God designed us too.

Stay married!

Before you spend hundreds of dollars on saving your marriage get the Fireproof DVD movie and two copies of this book. Watch the movie separately or together then read the book cover to cover separately or together. Wait a week for everything to sink in then do the dares in the book at your own pace. I am a practicing, church going rosary saying, Roman Catholic and this dare works regardless of the religion of the producers of the dare or the religious beliefs of those that do the dare.
